A U.S. Coast Guard crew in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula rescued a wayward sailboat from Lake Superior. The rescue of the 24-foot sailboat occurred on Monday morning near Marquette.

Crews from USCG Station Marquette responded to an area just off Cinder Pond Marina to find the boat beset by 28-knot winds and large waves. The vessel was towed to safety, and no one was injured, according to the Coast Guard.

The USCG is reminding boaters to always check the weather before venturing out onto the water.

“Know your vessel’s limits,” the statement reads.
